After hours of discussion about the many problems in city/county health facilities due to lack of training, Del. Cullison proposed a legislative solution that would:
- require the city and counties to establish a labor/management team. The team would be tasked with developing a training plan that must be filed with the state department of health. The department will oversee the implementation and maintaining of the plan.
- require the plan to have certain requirements including a Defined Preceptor Program, standard procedures and protocols, transition training, etc.
Del. Cullison has asked BCFPHN to submit a list of what nurses think should be included in a comprehensive training program in the health facilities.
