Annual Membership Meeting 2019

Dinner, drinks, and…. Ratification? That’s what was on the menu for the Baltimore County Federation of Public Health Nurses Annual Membership Meeting on the night of June 12, 2019. The meeting took place at Bowman’s restaurant in Carney, MD and featured an amazing menu of delicious eats, and great drinks among union colleagues. Before any of the food, drinks, and fellowship took place, the business of the union was first on the menu.

President Karen Pilecki walked members through the new contract the union agreed to with the county. There was discussion among the body about some of the specifics involving worksites, seniority, and standards. President Pilecki heard from members and addressed their concerns where she could, and promised to take their issues back to the negotiating table to be addressed by the county in other places.

Beyond ratification of the contract, there were new additions to the executive board. Crystal Wright is now the new Vice-President. She will work alongside fellow new executive board members Christine Bartron and Megan Blake who will serve as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively. President Pilecki also named two delegates to the Metro Baltimore Council of the AFL-CIO. The new delegates will be Beverly Grace and Kristine Newsome.
